The KA M19 (also referenced as the NSV) is a heavy anti-aircraft machine gun employed on combat vehicles (tanks, armoured personnel carriers) and by mechanized units as a means of air defence and direct fire support. Its primary roles include vehicle self-defence on the move, engagement of aerial targets, and suppression/destruction of light armoured, anti-tank and concentrated ground targets. The weapon is compatible with a wide range of ammunition types (standard, armour-piercing, incendiary and armour-piercing-incendiary), delivering operational flexibility. The design emphasises high rate of fire, long reach and robust operation for integration on fixed and mobile mounts.
